Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Service Manager for a charity based in the North East of England.

Contract: Full-time, Permanent subject to funding.

Salary: £34,944 to £38,183 (£19.20ph to £20.98ph).

Hours & Days: 35 hours a week, Monday to Fridays 9am to 5pm.

Additional benefits: 25 days paid holiday, employer's pension contribution of 6%, enhanced maternity leave.

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne.

Role Overview:

The VAWG Service Manager is primarily responsible for leading the strategic development and delivery of holistic, trauma informed and culturally competent VAWG services for Black and minoritised women and children.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Leading, managing, developing, fundraising, monitoring and delivering the operational running of high-quality VAWG frontline services for Black and racially minoritised women and children across the Northumbria Combined Authority (NECA).
  • Ensuring that all service safeguarding measures are in place and that a strong track record of institutional advocacy and prioritisation of women and children rights remains central to services.

Person Specification:

  • Extensive experience of working in the VAWG sector, and track record of working in a leadership and management role.
  • Proven track record in running VAWG frontline services.
  • Experience of identifying, managing and mitigating risks, especially in relation to safeguarding adults (and children).
  • IDVA and/or ISVA qualification ideally.
  • Robust Adult and Child safeguarding knowledge with designated safeguarding officer certifications ideally.

This post is:

  • Subject to Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
  • Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. It will be necessary for a disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service for details of any previous criminal convictions.
  • Open to women only (*exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
  • Involves some out-of-hours work and travel.
