Red Snapper Recruitment is currently seeking a Probation Services Officer to join the team at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Probation Services Officer or someone with strong transferable skills to work in a busy court setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of probation services in court, including preparing written reports, providing advice to magistrates, liaising with partner agencies, and ensuring accurate recording of information.
This is a full-time, on-site role based at Uxbridge Magistrates Court, Monday to Friday.
Job Summary
- Location: Uxbridge Magistrates Court, The Court House, Harefield Road, Uxbridge, UB8 1PQ
- Contract Type: Temporary, 3 months with possibility of extension
- Hours: 37 hours per week, full-time
- Rate: 18.59 p/h PAYE or 24.48 p/h Umbrella
- Working Pattern: On-site, Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to Probation Officers and the Court Team in delivering probation services.
- Prepare and present written reports to court within required timescales.
- Advise sentencers on risk, compliance, and rehabilitative options.
- Liaise with probation colleagues, courts, and partner agencies to ensure effective risk management.
- Accurately update case management systems with decisions and outcomes.
- Support the smooth running of court operations, ensuring compliance with all processes and standards.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working within the criminal justice sector, or a similar environment requiring case management and inter-agency liaison.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Confident working within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
