We are seeking an experienced Police Investigation Officer (PIP2) to join a Professional Standards function supporting serious and complex investigations. The successful candidate will manage and undertake a broad range of investigative and evidence-gathering duties, ensuring evidence is secured, preserved and recorded appropriately. The role also involves interviewing suspects, victims and witnesses, preparing case files, and supporting wider investigations.
Responsibilities- Provide an investigative response to incidents and intelligence received.
- Secure, preserve and gather evidence relating to allegations of misconduct or criminal activity.
- Manage appeals processes, including maintaining records, liaising with complainants and preparing response reports.
- Engage with members of the public via telephone, written correspondence and face-to-face contact to obtain complaint details and support resolution.
- Conduct victim, witness and suspect interviews.
