Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for five experienced Police Staff Investigators to join a Protecting Vulnerable Persons (PVP) team. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified investigators with a passion for safeguarding vulnerable people and delivering high-quality investigations. Working within a busy and professional environment, you will undertake enquiries, gather evidence, interview victims, witnesses and suspects, and support the progression of investigations through to court proceedings where required. The successful candidates will play a key role in protecting vulnerable individuals while ensuring investigations are conducted in accordance with legislation, policy, and best practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct enquiries relating to investigations and wider PVP matters.
  • Gather, secure and preserve evidence from a range of sources including victims, witnesses, suspects and digital media.
  • Interview victims, witnesses and suspects in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures.
  • Identify vulnerability and safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate action is taken.
  • Manage investigations in compliance with the Criminal Procedure and Investigations Act (CPIA) and Victims' Code.
  • Develop and utilise intelligence to support investigations and identify risks.
  • Prepare case files and documentation to meet court and procedural deadlines.
  • Attend court and provide evidence when required.
  • Liaise effectively with partner agencies and attend multi-agency meetings.
  • Maintain accurate records and utilise relevant IT systems to support investigations.

Essential Requirements

  • PIP1 Qualified (essential).
  • Experience gathering information and evidence through research, interviewing or investigative techniques.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to assess complex information.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
  • Excellent attention to detail and report-writing abilities.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience delivering excellent customer service.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Ability to travel across Lincolnshire and occasionally further afield as required.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience conducting Protecting Vulnerable Persons (PVP) investigations.
  • Experience investigating serious and/or complex cases.
  • Video Witness Interviewing (VWI) qualification or training.
