HMP Millsike is recruiting Prison Custody Officers to help create a safe, respectful and rehabilitative environment. Salary: £37,818.90 | 42 hours per week | Full training provided Overview of the Role This is much more than a security role. You will work directly with prisoners, colleagues and partner teams to maintain safety, encourage positive behaviour and support rehabilitation. No previous prison experience is required - we are looking for people with the right values, resilience and attitude. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors. Build positive professional relationships and encourage constructive behaviour. Respond calmly and professionally to challenging situations and incidents. Support prisoners to engage with education, work and rehabilitation opportunities. Work closely with colleagues and partner services to support the daily prison regime.What We Are Looking For Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Resilience, empathy and professionalism. Good judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Confidence to challenge inappropriate behaviour fairly and appropriately. A commitment to teamwork, inclusion and making a positive difference.Training and Benefits Successful candidates will complete a fully-funded 9-week Initial Training Course at HMP Millsike.
