Red Snapper is currently seeking a qualified Probation Officer to join the Resettlement Team supporting individuals in custody as they prepare for release back into the community. This role is focused entirely on custody-based case management, working with prisoners throughout their sentence to assess risk, support rehabilitation, coordinate release planning, and contribute to parole and progression processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of individuals in custody.
  • Complete risk assessments and sentence planning activities.
  • Prepare reports for parole hearings and progression reviews.
  • Develop effective resettlement and release plans.
  • Work collaboratively with prisons, community probation teams, and partner agencies.
  • Promote public protection while supporting positive rehabilitation outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with HMPPS standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Probation Officer status (DipPS, CQSW, PQF, or equivalent recognised qualification).
  • Experience managing offender caseloads within probation services.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment, safeguarding, and public protection.
  • Experience completing reports and assessments to a high standard.
  • Ability to manage complex and high-risk cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
