RSR are currently recruiting for an experienced Administrator to work as a Criminal Justice Casework Officer on a long-term, full-time contract. The role pays £13.53 per hour (PAYE). This is a remote working position.
Job Purpose
To support the effective progression of cases through the Criminal Justice System by preparing case files in accordance with Service Level Agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a gatekeeper for non‑custody cases.
- Obtain, triage, quality‑assure and submit case files to the CPS for pre‑charge advice, in line with National File Standards and the Director Generals' Guidelines on disclosure.
- Monitor and receive responses and charging decisions from the CPS and disseminate to the OIC.
- Prepare, quality‑assure and submit accurate prosecution files which help to ensure successful prosecution rates.
- Obtain, quality‑assure, redact, reformat and prepare any supporting/additional evidence.
- Liaise with the OIC and the CPS to undertake further evidential enquiries when required, ensuring they are managed within the agreed timeframes.
- Develop and apply knowledge of National File Standards, legal points to prove and disclosure protocols to ensure that key evidence accompanies prosecution files before submission to the CPS.
- Undertake daily disposal searches and ensure prosecution materials are provided to the CPS by morning deadline.
- Conduct further hourly checks to ensure all required information is provided to the CPS and the Courts to ensure an effective remand court hearing.
Essential
- Proven experience working in a busy administrative environment, undertaking complex administrative tasks to a high standard.
- Good understanding of redaction principles regarding protection of identity and GDPR.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a policing and/or criminal justice environment.
