Salary: Β£25,282.44 - Β£28,861.62 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm (some flexibility considered)
Location: Based at our Sandwell office, covering the Black Country
Contract: Frontline support role

About Ask MARC
Ask MARC (Male Abuse Referral Centre) is a new, specialist service offering a dedicated referral pathway and tailored support for male victims of interpersonal abuse living in the Black Country. This includes domestic abuse, sexual violence (current, historic and childhood), stalking, honour-based abuse and forced marriage. Ask MARC works in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to assess risk, remove barriers to access and provide high-quality, trauma-informed advocacy and support for men aged 16+.
The Role
We are seeking a Male Specialist Abuse Advocate to provide high-quality frontline support to male victims of interpersonal violence and abuse. You will deliver short- to medium-term crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning and advocacy, working closely with partner agencies including MARAC. You will support men experiencing complex needs, helping them understand their options, access services and increase their safety. You will also play a key role in outreach and awareness-raising across the Black Country, increasing engagement with men who may face barriers to accessing support. This role requires compassion, resilience and strong case management skills, alongside a solid understanding of trauma-informed practice and the dynamics of abuse experienced by men. This post is open to applicants of all genders. This role is office-based and community-based and is not eligible for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed, person-centred advocacy and casework support
- Assess risk and needs using evidence-based tools and develop tailored support and safety plans
- Advocate for clients within multi-agency settings, including MARAC
- Support clients through criminal and civil court processes
- Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary agencies
- Deliver outreach, awareness-raising and group work where required
- Maintain accurate, timely case records and reports
- Contribute to safeguarding processes and organisational quality standards
What Weβre Looking For
- Experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally within domestic abuse, sexual violence or related services
- Strong case management and risk assessment skills
- A good understanding of trauma-informed and client-centred approaches
- Experience working with complex needs (e.g. mental health, substance misuse)
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
- Confidence working within multi-agency frameworks
Additional Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to use your own vehicle
- DBS check (required)
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends when required
