Regional Children & Young People's Advocate\\n\\nLocation: Sandwell & Dudley\\n Salary: £23,809.50 – £24,360.35\\n Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm)\\n Contract: Permanent\\n Travel: Required – full driving licence and access to a vehicle\\n Occupational Requirement: Female-only (Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1)\\n\\nWe're looking for a compassionate and motivated Children & Young People's Advocate to support children aged 8-14 who have experienced domestic abuse at home. This vital role provides one-to-one and group support, helping children understand their emotions, build resilience, and strengthen relationships with their parent or carer.\\n\\nYou will deliver the recognised DART (Domestic Abuse, Recovering Together) programme, working closely with adult domestic abuse practitioners to ensure holistic, family-centred support.\\n\\nThis is a rewarding frontline role for someone passionate about empowering young people, promoting safety, and creating opportunities for children to thrive.\\n\\nKey Responsibilities\\n\\nDeliver one-to-one and group support to children in schools and community settings\\n\\nCreate safe, child-led spaces where young people can share their feelings and experiences\\n\\nProvide age-appropriate interventions on healthy relationships, emotional wellbeing, resilience and coping strategies\\n\\nAssess suitability for the DART programme and deliver 10-week group sessions\\n\\nWork collaboratively with adult domestic abuse practitioners to support both parent and child\\n\\nIdentify safeguarding concerns and respond appropriately\\n\\nBuild strong multi-agency partnerships with schools, social care, mental health services and other professionals\\n\\nComplete risk assessments, support plans, case notes and reports to a high standard\\n\\nSupport with awareness sessions, presentations and occasional group work\\n\\nMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding, GDPR and organisational policies\\n\\nAbout You\\n\\nEssential:\\n\\nGCSEs English and Mathematics – Grade C or above. Minimum NVQ Level 3 in relevant subject, preferably working with children.\\n\\nExperience supporting children and young people, including identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns\\n\\nExperience managing a caseload\\n\\nUnderstanding of trauma-informed practice and the impact of domestic abuse on children\\n\\nStrong communication skills, able to engage children sensitively and creatively\\n\\nConfident in using Microsoft Office and virtual platforms\\n\\nAbility to work independently, manage time effectively, and stay calm under pressure\\n\\nDesirable:\\n\\nExperience delivering group programmes\\n\\nUnderstanding of motivational interviewing\\n\\nKnowledge of VAWG frameworks\\n\\nExperience working with families facing complex needs (mental health, substance misuse, etc.)
