Red Snapper Learning is recruiting an experienced Trainer / Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a major new Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) programme. This is a long-term, part-time opportunity (2–3 days per week) running over 2 years, offering a competitive daily rate of £300–£400. The role is hybrid, with one day per week required on-site in London and the remaining days worked remotely.
We’re looking for someone with prior MPS experience and a strong background in designing and delivering systems training. In this role, you’ll lead on Training Needs Analysis for a new HR system, design engaging blended learning solutions (including e-learning and face-to-face delivery), and develop content using the MPS e-learning platform. You’ll also deliver training to end users and act as a trusted SME, ensuring all materials align with MPS processes and ways of working.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident facilitator with strong instructional design skills and stakeholder engagement experience, who can commit to a part-time engagement over the full programme lifecycle.
- Contract Length: 2 years
- Engagement: Part-time (2–3 days per week)
- Location: Hybrid – including 1 day per week face-to-face in London
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for the new HR system.

Essential Requirements:
- Former MPS experience (essential).
- Proven experience designing and delivering systems-related training.
- Strong instructional design capability across blended learning formats.
- Confident facilitator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to commit to a 2-year programme on a part-time basis.
Working Pattern & Rate:
- £365 per day
- Initially 2–3 days per week
- 1 day per week on-site in London, with remaining days remote
