Red Snapper Recruitment are recruiting for a Homeless Outreach Support Worker behalf of our client based in Guildford.

We are looking for a compassionate and proactive Homeless Outreach Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Guildford
As a Homeless Outreach Support Worker, you will work with rough sleepers, hidden homeless individuals, and those at risk of homelessness to help them access accommodation and essential support services. You will use a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to build trust and develop tailored support plans that empower individuals towards independent living.
This role requires the ability to work alone in the community, conducting outreach and supporting clients in various locations, as well as working collaboratively within a wider team
This is a full-time role shift based – Early: 7am – 3am / Late: 10am – 6pm Mon – Fri (35hrs / week) on a 4 months contract at £13.12/hr
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support, helping clients address housing, financial, and personal challenges
- Assist with tenancy issues, benefits applications, and securing long-term accommodation
- Conduct outreach visits, identifying and assessing the needs of rough sleepers
- Work with external agencies to ensure clients have access to health care, mental health services, and employment opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of support plans, risk assessments, and progress reports
- Follow safeguarding procedures and ensure a safe and supportive environment for all clients
Person Specification
- Experience working with vulnerable client groups (homelessness, housing, social care, or similar)
- Ability to work independently and make confident decisions in challenging situations
- Strong knowledge of crisis intervention and structured support planning
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
Additional Information
