About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established construction firm renowned for delivering high-quality projects across London and the South East. With over four decades of experience, the company specialises in small to medium-sized alteration, refurbishment, and new-build projects, particularly within live environments such as educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and residential developments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation and management of project budgets and cost plans.
* Support the procurement process, including drafting tender documents and evaluating subcontractor bids.
* Monitor project expenditures and assist in the preparation of financial reports.
* Collaborate with project managers and site teams to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
* Aid in the assessment and valuation of work completed on-site.
* Maintain accurate records of variations, valuations, and project correspondence.
* Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
Requirements:
* Working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (such as Commercial Management or Construction Management),
or
has already completed a degree, but is still early in their career (0–2 years of experience).
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office; experience with construction-specific software is a plus.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
