We are currently working on an exciting opportunity for an experienced Orthopaedic Veterinary Surgeon to join a busy, well-equipped 24-hour hospital based in Beckenham, South East London. This is a fantastic chance to take on a role with a clear orthopaedic focus, working in a modern clinical setting with excellent support and scope for further development. The Practice

This is a large, established hospital with 24-hour care and a strong caseload of both first opinion and complex cases. The site has recently been refurbished and boasts outstanding facilities including:

  • Two operating theatres
  • Digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy (including laparoscopy)
  • Dedicated dental and imaging rooms
  • Separate feline ward, waiting area, and consulting rooms
  • Remote specialist support via Virtual Veterinary Services (VVS) for cardiac and abdominal imaging
  • Full night team providing out-of-hours cover for surrounding clinics

The team is known for its supportive and collaborative culture, and they are particularly keen to welcome a vet with a strong orthopaedic interest or background.

The Role

This role is suited to an experienced Veterinary Surgeon with a keen interest in orthopaedics and the ability to manage a busy surgical caseload. You will be encouraged to lead on complex cases and play a key role in mentoring more junior clinicians. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing orthopaedic procedures such as fracture repair, joint surgery, TPLO and TTA
  • Utilising advanced imaging to support diagnostic and surgical planning
  • Leading on complex soft tissue surgeries and laparoscopic procedures
  • Working closely with the wider clinical team to deliver a high standard of care
  • Providing clear and compassionate communication with clients

Candidate Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong experience in orthopaedic surgery - TPLO, TTA, arthroscopy highly desirable
  • Confident in diagnostic imaging and surgical planning
  • Excellent communication and case management skills
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach

Location

The practice is located in Beckenham, with excellent transport links into Central London (via Thameslink, Southeastern and Southern lines). On-site staff parking is also available.
