Red Sector Recruitment is proud to be working with a thriving, growing independent veterinary practice to recruit a Night Veterinary Surgeon for an exciting new out-of-hours service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly, values-led team within a well-established independent practice that is launching its own in-house 24-hour emergency provision. The Opportunity
- This is a dedicated night veterinary surgeon role, working as a key part of the emergency and in-patient care team.
- You will manage a varied and rewarding emergency caseload overnight, with full clinical freedom and the support of an experienced RVN on-site at all times.
- Structured morning handovers ensure excellent continuity of care and patient wellbeing.
- The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities including digital X-ray, high-spec ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy and multiparameter monitoring equipment – enabling you to deliver the highest standards of emergency care.
- As this is a brand-new out-of-hours service, you will have the rare opportunity to help shape how it operates, including input into rota structure and workflow.
Who We’re Looking For
- Experienced Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
- Previous OOH experience welcomed but not essential
- Confident decision-maker who remains calm under pressure
- A team player who values collaboration and positive communication
- A vet looking to work nights in a supportive, independent environment
- This role would suit an experienced night vet or a confident day vet looking to transition into emergency work.
What’s On Offer
- Excellent Salary £60,000 – £75,000 depending on experience
- Flexible Rota Pattern Flexible night rota available (e.g. 7 on / 14 off or similar), with genuine input from you. The practice is open to discussion to create a sustainable working pattern.
