We are recruiting for a friendly and supportive practice in Dorchester, Dorset, seeking a vet to join their growing team. About the Practice
You’ll be joining a tight-knit, highly experienced team including a Clinical Lead, a new graduate vet, part-time colleagues, five registered veterinary nurses, and a dedicated reception team. The leadership team is forward-thinking, supportive, and committed to both team wellbeing and professional development.
The practice is fully equipped with:
- A dedicated operating theatre and two consult rooms
- A nurse consult/x-ray room
- Digital x-ray and ultrasound
- In-house laboratory equipment
- Multi-parameter monitoring systems
There’s also flexibility to invest in additional equipment depending on your clinical interests, as the practice continues to grow.
The Role
We are seeking a vet who is confident and experienced in routine neutering, first opinion consultations, and emergency/critical care. Full-time or part-time applicants are welcome. There are no out-of-hours commitments and the practice is closed on Sundays, allowing you to make the most of your personal time.
Consults are structured at 15 minutes per patient, with dedicated time for admin and lunch. The team enjoys regular meetings to discuss patient care and practice improvements, all in a supportive, collaborative environment.
Exotics Opportunity
The practice has a growing reputation for exotic and wildlife care across Dorset. The caseload includes small mammals, avian, and reptile species, with involvement in local wildlife rehabilitation. There’s a real opportunity to develop and expand this area further, with support for training and investment in equipment for advanced diagnostics and procedures. Recent cases include rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas, leopard geckos, bearded dragons, skinks, tortoises, parrots, and various wildlife species such as hedgehogs and jackdaws.
