We are currently seeking a Residential Support Worker for a Residential rehab for men and women who need support with drug or alcohol challenges. The shifts are as follows: Monday 5-10PM, Thursday- 5-11 PM and Sleepover 11-7am, Friday 4-11 PM and Sleepover, Sunday 1-10PM. The hourly rate for shifts will be £18 an hour via an Umbrella (PAYE Available) and Sleep In's will be paid at £120.
Main responsibilities / duties:
- Support the day to day operation of the project by working with residents to enable them to cope with practical aspects of daily living including cleaning, food preparation, admin, budgeting and other life skills.
- Undertake, with support from residents, domestic duties to provide a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
- Support Practitioners who carry an active caseload by assisting in recovery planning with individual service users, and documenting this clearly in their daily notes.
- Co-facilitate workshops, including food safety, goals group, weekend planning and any other groups directed by Practitioners.
- Assess risk and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for all through the prevention and management of challenging behaviours.
- Screen for substance use in line with organisational guidelines and taking appropriate follow up actions.
- Support residents to take their medications as prescribed in line with organisational guidelines.
- Support colleagues, volunteers and sessional workers providing advice and guidance, as appropriate, ensuring care standards are maintained and service users receive the most appropriate care.
- Facilitate admissions and discharges, ensuring all necessary documents are completed and liaison with referral agencies and other relevant professionals.
- Ensure the correct use of PPE.
- Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times.
- Follow Infection, Prevention and Control policies at all times.
- Carry out other ad hoc duties as requested e.g. attending team meetings and training when required.
- Be sensitive to the privacy and individual needs of the residents.
