Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist β Community Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated community children's therapy team on a 3-month locum contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled OT who is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential within their everyday environments.
Role Overview
As a Community Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will work with children and young people aged 0-19 years, carrying out comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and providing intervention recommendations across a range of community settings.
Your caseload will involve visiting
- Mainstream and specialist schools
- Community clinics
- Other appropriate community settings as required
You will work collaboratively with families, educational staff, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, child-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the occupational therapy needs of children and young people aged 0β19 years.
- Complete functional assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans and recommendations.
- Provide advice, strategies, and interventions to support participation in daily activities, education, and development.
- Produce accurate clinical documentation and reports.
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, schools, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using the Systm One clinical system.
Essential Requirements
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Previous experience working as a Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist.
- Experience assessing and managing a paediatric caseload within community, school, or clinic settings.
- Knowledge and experience of using Systm One.
- Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle, as regular travel between schools and clinics is required.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am β 5:00pm
