An established and growing electrical building services contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join its pre-construction team based in Hinckley. Operating across a range of commercial and industrial projects, this role will involve producing accurate and competitive project estimates while working closely with internal departments to support successful project delivery.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative estimating team and play a key role in managing tender opportunities from initial enquiry through to project handover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical projects.
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Attend site visits and surveys to assess project requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and wholesalers to obtain competitive quotations.
  • Ensure materials and equipment meet both project specifications and cost requirements.
  • Identify and propose value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
  • Coordinate with specialist suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely quotation returns.
  • Manage tender deadlines and customer expectations throughout the process.
  • Monitor submitted quotations and obtain customer feedback where possible.
  • Handover successful projects to design, procurement, and project delivery teams.
Requirements
  • Previous experience within an Electrical Estimator position or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial electrical installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Computer literate with experience using estimating software and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Qualifications
  • Electrical industry qualifications preferred (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Previous estimating experience highly desirable.
  • Strong electrical technical background essential.
