An established and growing Building Services contractor is seeking a Junior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. Operating across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare and public-sector projects throughout the UK, the company delivers a full range of Mechanical and Electrical services from design and estimation through to installation, commissioning and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the commercial management of mechanical building services projects.
- Support the preparation and submission of interim valuations and applications for payment.
- Assist with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and package awards.
- Monitor project costs and help maintain accurate cost reports.
- Support the preparation of variations, change orders and compensation events.
- Assist in reviewing subcontractor applications and preparing payment recommendations.
- Help prepare project forecasts, cash flow reports and final accounts.
- Attend project meetings with clients, contractors and site teams.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and project documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider commercial team to ensure projects are delivered within budget.
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management or Building Services Engineering preferred.
- Recent graduates with relevant placements or industry experience are encouraged to apply.
- Working towards or interested in professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB or similar) would be advantageous.
- Keen to work as a full-time Quantity Surveyor.
