ROLE: Production Manager (PM Shift)

SALARY: £40,000 + £5,000 shift allowance

LOCATION: Telford

THE COMPANY:

Red Rock Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a successful food manufacturing business. Our client is committed to delivering high-quality products, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

WORKING HOURS:

Shift pattern: 16:00 – 00:00

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage 3 Line Leaders and a team of 20-30 operatives to achieve production targets
  • Ensure shift performance meets daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs for quality, efficiency, cost, and safety
  • Coach and develop Line Leaders to drive effective communication, performance management, and team engagement
  • Oversee employee relations including absence management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and succession planning
  • Ensure all records and documentation are completed accurately for full traceability and audit compliance
  • Drive continuous improvement in waste reduction, efficiency, GMP, and food safety standards
  • Collaborate with technical, engineering, and NPD teams to support product launches, equipment maintenance, and quality compliance
  • Ensure production is carried out in a safe and food-safe manner in line with company policies, HACCP, and BRC standards
  • Monitor agency usage and labour costs, implementing plans to reduce costs while maintaining output and quality
  • Support customer audits, implement corrective actions, and maintain audit-ready hygiene and housekeeping standards

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 5 years\’ experience in a similar production management role within food manufacturing
  • Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 3 (minimum)
  • Strong people management skills with experience leading supervisors/line leaders and large operational teams
  • Proven track record of driving performance improvements in cost, quality, and efficiency
  • Knowledge of food compliance, health & safety legislation, and employment law
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • IT literate with the ability to interpret KPIs and implement effective action plans
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to lead by example in a challenging environment
