Overview
We are seeking a skilled Panel Wirer / Electrical Assembler to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and modifying electrical control panels in line with technical drawings, specifications, and industry standards. This is a hands-on role requiring strong practical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality, reliable electrical assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and terminate wiring by accurately measuring, cutting, stripping, and crimping to meet technical specifications for control panel assembly.
- Interpret and apply electrical schematics and general arrangement drawings to ensure all wiring installations are carried out correctly, efficiently, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Ensure all wiring is neatly routed, clearly labelled, and logically organised to facilitate maintenance and meet quality assurance requirements.
- Assemble and integrate wiring into control panels with a high degree of accuracy, delivering a professional and consistent finish across all builds.
- Support quality assurance by carrying out peer reviews of colleagues\’ work, confirming accuracy and completeness before electrical testing.
- Take a proactive approach to identifying potential wiring defects or design issues, escalating concerns promptly to supervisors and recommending practical solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Successfully completed C&G #removed# (BS#removed#th Edition) training.
- Practical competence meeting the requirements of a JIB approved or technical grade electrician.
- Ability to set out and instruct work from drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
- Familiarity with electrical legislation, including Electricity at Work Regulations, PUWER, and knowledge of relevant British Standards Codes of Practice.
Employment Package
- Rate: Shop Employed Electrician (JIB Rate)
- Holidays: 24 days per year + 8 statutory bank holidays
- Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
