ROLE: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

SALARY: Up to £42,000

LOCATION: Telford

The Company

Red Rock Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business. Our client is dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and product quality, with strong investment in engineering and continuous improvement.

Working Hours

Rotating shifts:

  • Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Week 2: 14:00 – 22:00

Flexibility required for occasional call-outs in line with business needs

Duties

  • Deliver preventative maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns across the plant
  • Lead by example on health and safety, ensuring compliance with company procedures and risk assessments
  • Oversee and manage external contractors where required
  • Install, repair, and overhaul single and three-phase electrical circuits, machinery, and site facilities
  • Support new design, installation, and relocation of equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of spare parts, labour hours, and engineering stores
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required
  • Provide technical support, advice, and training to production teams
  • Drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and site efficiency

The Candidate

  • Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer with electrical bias (18th Edition qualified)
  • HND/Degree level or recognised electrical/mechanical apprenticeship
  • At least 3 years\’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of automation and PLCs (BRC experience desirable)
  • IOSH and Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Proactive, professional, and committed to continuous improvement
