Job Title: MGPS (Medical Gas Pipeline System) Service Engineer
Location:
North West England (Field-Based)
Salary: 45,000 per annum
Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x standard rate

About the Role:

A specialist healthcare engineering organisation is seeking a skilled MGPS Service Engineer to support the maintenance, fault diagnosis, and lifecycle component replacement of medical gas systems across healthcare environments.

This role plays a key part in ensuring safety and regulatory compliance within critical care settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on MGPS installations in accordance with HTM 02-01 standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve system faults, performing necessary adjustments or part replacements.
  • Carry out lifecycle replacements, including terminal units, AVSUs, valves, and alarm panels.
  • Accurately complete service documentation and maintain compliance records.
  • Collaborate with estates and clinical staff to plan and execute works safely.
  • Support system upgrades and minor modifications with technical input.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience servicing MGPS systems within live healthcare settings.
  • Strong understanding of HTM 02-01 and relevant medical gas safety regulations.
  • Certification to Competent Person (CP) or Authorised Person (AP) level for MGPS.
  • Professional, courteous conduct in clinical environments.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends (paid overtime).
