Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC Specialist Based in Birmingham | Covering the West Midlands Full-Time | Permanent £45,000 – £55,000. A well-established UK-based mechanical and electrical engineering contractor, specialising in delivering innovative, high-quality solutions across the construction and building services industry. With a strong portfolio of commercial, healthcare, educational, and residential projects, we pride ourselves on technical excellence, safety, and reliability. Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Mechanical Supervisor with significant HVAC experience to support the delivery of mechanical packages on major projects. Role Overview As Mechanical Supervisor, you will oversee the mechanical installation of HVAC systems on site, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery of works. You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, sub-contractors, and clients to maintain high standards and ensure smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate on-site mechanical (HVAC) works and labour teams. * Ensure all installations comply with design specifications, health & safety regulations, and industry standards. * Act as the main point of contact for HVAC-related site issues and resolve any technical challenges. * Review and interpret technical drawings and project plans. * Conduct quality control checks and ensure all works meet project requirements and timelines. * Coordinate with the project manager, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain workflow and resolve logistical issues. * Monitor progress and report to senior management on milestones, risks, and delays. * Ensure all relevant documentation, including risk assessments and method statements, is completed and up to date. Requirements * Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor in building services, with a strong focus on HVAC systems. * NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. * SSSTS or SMSTS certification (preferred). * CSCS card (Supervisor level). * Knowledge of current health & safety legislation and industry best practices. * Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and specifications. * Excellent communication and leadership skills. * Full UK driving licence.
