The Role
A well-established M&E contractor is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to develop a long-term career within the building services and construction industry.
The successful candidate will support the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of commercial, industrial, and residential M&E projects, working alongside experienced estimators within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical and electrical projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
- Carry out quantity take-offs and cost analysis
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Support senior estimators with pricing exercises and bid strategy development
- Maintain accurate estimating records and project data
- Liaise with internal departments, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Assist with the ongoing review of project costs and commercial information
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn within a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems
- Previous internship, placement, or work experience within construction or estimating
- Familiarity with estimating software packages
Qualifications
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, or similar relevant subject
