Overview
We are partnering with a well-established mechanical and HVAC contractor specialising in commercial air conditioning, ventilation and mechanical building services installations across the UK. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality mechanical solutions across commercial fit-outs and refurbishment projects, supported by a practical and experienced delivery team. Due to a strong pipeline of secured work for the coming year, they are now looking to appoint two Mechanical Project Managers to strengthen the project delivery team. The successful candidates will lead and manage mechanical packages across multiple commercial projects, with a particular focus on plumbing and mechanical building services installations. The role will involve regular site attendance, with approximately 2–3 days per week on project sites in London, alongside 2 days based in the Bromsgrove office coordinating project delivery, procurement and client communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Oversee mechanical installations with a primary focus on plumbing and associated building services systems
- Coordinate subcontractors, engineers and site supervisors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Manage project programmes, budgets and resources across multiple sites
- Attend project meetings with clients, consultants and main contractors
- Ensure all works comply with relevant health & safety regulations and industry standards
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications and installation plans
- Monitor progress on site and resolve technical or logistical issues as they arise
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key project stakeholders
- Report on project performance, programme milestones and commercial updates to senior management
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Mechanical Project Manager within commercial building services
- Strong background in mechanical installations with a plumbing-led skillset
- Experience delivering projects ranging from £100k to £1.8m
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, subcontractors and site teams
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Willingness to travel to London-based sites 2–3 days per week
- Experience delivering projects within commercial fit-out or refurbishment environments
