About the Role

Our client, a leading European trailer operator and freight forwarder based in St Albans, is looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding Logistics Coordinator to join their busy and knowledgeable team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast‑paced, professional and supportive freight forwarding environment where your contribution will be valued, noticed and appreciated. You will be working with UK and European manufacturers, importers and exporters, helping to organise the smooth movement of freight across Europe and the UK.

What you’ll do

As a Freight Forwarding Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing European and UK freight movements from start to finish. You will play a key role as principal point of contact. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating deliveries and collections with European and UK carriers, whilst managing the customer’s project timelines.
  • Compiling detailed KPI and stock reports.
  • Processing customer orders through the company’s in‑house operating system.
  • Negotiating pricing with carriers and customers.
  • Monitoring customs processes.
  • Participation in regular review meetings.
  • Identifying additional suppliers to improve service levels, increase turnover and maximise profitability.
  • Providing the highest standards of pro‑active written and verbal communication.

In addition, you will also become involved in working with other clients, managing their shipments to and from the EU.

What you need

We are looking for a confident, commercially aware and customer‑focused freight professional who enjoys working in a busy European road freight environment. The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience of logistics and supply‑chain management, either from working with a manufacturer, transport company or freight forwarder.
  • Proficiency using Excel.
  • Commercial acumen with problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A professional, positive and helpful approach.
  • The ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
