Our sea and air freight client based in Essex is currently looking to appoint an experienced Seafreight Export Operator to join their NVOCC team. The position offers working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 5:00pm, with no weekends required.

Role Overview

As a Seafreight Export Operator, you will handle files from start to finish on a daily basis. Your responsibilities include liaising with customers, customs authorities, and third-party contacts, ensuring customs clearance documents are in order, collecting relevant documentation for cargo release or delivery, invoicing, and securing payments.

Key Duties

  • Taking bookings for LCL / FCL shipments
  • Providing quotations for LCL / FCL / Break bulk / RO-RO
  • Handling Customs Entries
  • Arranging Haulage and Collections
  • Planning weekly groupage loads
  • Raising documentation and sending Pre Alerts, Bills of Lading, and Invoices
  • Managing depot transfers

Candidate Profile

We are eager to speak with candidates who have operational experience with groupage/consolidation, especially those familiar with export operations, submitting shipping instructions, Customs Entries, VGM submissions, UCR assignments, MUCR closures, and SARS documentation for South African agents. Proficiency in INTTRA, CDS, CNS / DESTIN8 would be highly advantageous.
