Due to business growth, our client, a removals company based in London, is looking to recruit an experienced Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver to join their busy team.
As a Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver, you will undertake standard Porter and Porter-Driver responsibilities, as well as acting as a Foreman on some jobs. When not the appointed Foreman, you will work as a porter under the supervision of the Foreman. Your responsibilities include driving 18, 12, 7.5, and 3.5-tonne vehicles between the warehouse and customer addresses, complying with driver restrictions related to driver CPC requirements.
Removals Porter / Category C 18 Tonne Driver duties include:
- Introducing yourself to the customer as the main point of contact.
- Keeping the customer informed and ensuring all their requirements are met.
- Driving company vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy, clean, fueled, and legally parked, and returning them to the fleet in good condition.
- Working as part of a team to handle customer goods safely.
- Exceeding customer expectations through understanding, planning, and careful delivery.
- Maintaining professionalism, politeness, and courtesy at all times.
- Adhering to company policies on driver and vehicle safety.
Having a Category C driving license and physical strength are essential for this role.
We are interested in speaking with removals professionals experienced in driving 18-tonne vehicles, as well as possessing customer care, packing/unpacking, loading/unloading, and problem-solving skills.
This is a full-time, permanent position, averaging 44 hours per week, in a pattern of 6 days one week, then 5 days the next.
The successful candidate will be offered approximately £35,000, depending on experience and skills.
