We\’re looking for a confident and motivated HGV 2 Driver to join our client\’s busy and growing international removals team in Exeter.
This is a great opportunity for someone with removals or relocation experience.
As a Removals HGV 2 Driver, your typical day will include taking responsibility for the company\’s vehicle, ensuring the load is safely and efficiently transported from collection to delivery. You will undertake packing, loading, and unloading as required. Physical strength is essential for this role.
Removals HGV 2 duties include:
- Operating a commercial vehicle safely and reliably.
- Taking responsibility for the vehicle and its load at all times.
- Performing daily vehicle and safety checks, routine maintenance (e.g., oil and water checks), and reporting any defects.
- Carrying out work safely in accordance with Safe Systems at Work Procedures, methods, statements, or other instructions.
- Ensuring all vehicle loads comply with Road Traffic Legislation and vehicle operating limits.
- Undertaking regular training for Driver Continuing Professional Competence (CPC qualification).
- Maintaining the vehicle, reporting and rectifying any damage to keep it safe and clean.
- Completing all required vehicle paperwork and delivery documentation.
- Contributing to personal and team development.
- Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and ISO9002 Quality System Policies.
You will also submit recommended actions to the Operations Controller regarding loading and unloading.
We are eager to speak with reliable removals drivers holding a valid HGV 2 / Category C licence, with customer care, packing/unpacking, loading/unloading, and problem-solving skills.
In return, the successful candidate will be offered up to £42,000 depending on skills and experience.
