Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (1 hour lunch)

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary with the possibility of a permanent position

About the role: Our client is looking for an experienced Air Export Operator to join their busy Freight Forwarding team based in Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Air Export experience who is available to start immediately and is looking for a role that could become permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Air Export shipments from booking through to departure.
  • Prepare and process Air Export documentation accurately.
  • Liaise with customers, airlines, overseas agents and transport providers.
  • Arrange bookings and coordinate collections.
  • Ensure export documentation is completed correctly and on time.
  • Assist with export customs procedures.
  • Monitor shipments and provide customers with regular updates.
  • Resolve any operational issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Complete customer billing and maintain accurate shipment records.
  • Ensure all operational files are completed in line with company procedures and KPIs.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience within Air Export Freight Forwarding is essential.
  • Good understanding of Air Export procedures and documentation.
  • Knowledge of CDS customs entries would be highly advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy team.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
