Job Title: Fine Art Shipping Gallery Manager

Location: North West London

About the Company

Our client is an established international fine art shipping company, renowned for delivering specialist logistics solutions for galleries and private collectors. With a strong reputation for precision, care, and reliability, they are now seeking an experienced Fine Art Shipping Gallery Manager to join their team.

Role Overview

The Fine Art Shipping Gallery Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day gallery services, managing a small team, and ensuring the smooth delivery of projects across road freight, shipping, and specialist fine art logistics. Reporting directly to a Director, this role requires a hands-on professional with proven knowledge of fine art shipping, TA and Bonds, customs procedures, and gallery operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate gallery-focused shipping and logistics services, primarily road freight.
  • Oversee and support a small team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
  • Work closely with galleries, dealers, and private clients to manage end-to-end logistics.
  • Ensure compliance with TA and Bonds requirements, maintaining accurate documentation and procedures.
  • Handle customs processes to ensure full compliance and smooth movement of artworks.
  • Liaise with hauliers, agents, and internal teams to plan and monitor shipments.
  • Provide solutions for complex logistical requirements while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Report directly to the Director on departmental performance, issues, and client projects.

Key Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • Must have proven experience within fine art shipping.
  • Must have experience in customs procedures.
  • Must have previous exposure to working with galleries.
  • Strong background in logistics or freight forwarding, with a focus on road freight.
  • Previous team management experience with the ability to lead and motivate staff.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong client-facing communication and problem-solving abilities.

Package

  • Salary: £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
  • Performance-related incentives and additional benefits.
