Air Import Customs Clerk

On a daily basis, you will be liaising with customers via email and telephone, as well as communicating with customs and port authorities.

Key responsibilities of the Air Import Customs Clerk:

• Ensure all documents received for customs purposes are accurate.
• Submit customs entries using ASM Sequoia in line with HMRC legislation.
• Respond promptly to queries, replying to all emails within 24 hours.
• Handle customs amendments and reclaims.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years\’ experience in Air Import Customs Clearance and good knowledge of CHIEF, CNS, and Destin8.

Strong IT and systems skills, especially with Excel, are essential.

We are looking for candidates who can build and maintain excellent working relationships both internally and externally.

Experience required:

• Good understanding of Incoterms.
• Experience working with various operating systems.
• Understanding of different customs processes such as IP, returned goods, and home use.
• Good knowledge of customs procedures, primarily the HMRC tariff, CPCs, and preferences.
• Experience with NET Freight and Descartes systems.
