Job Purpose
To monitor and inspect the condition of production equipment, the site facilities and carry out maintenance and repairs as necessary, to ensure safety and maximize uptime performance. To devise planned preventative maintenance schedules and update daily maintenance log. Monitor line performance for operational efficiency, report to management OEE and devise improvements to existing processes. Carry out Root cause analysis when a breakdown occurs and implement solutions to mitigate reoccurrence. Assist with safety related issues on site. Manage small projects when required. Ensure statutory records for equipment are maintained on time. Create and keep updated maintenance work lists and proactively report to management.
Job Summary
Provide the on-site engineering maintenance cover required to meet the needs of an expanding business. A time-served multi-skilled engineer able to work with electrical control systems to fault finding level, as well as carry out mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic fault finding and repairs to a range of foam conversion equipment. Strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills essential, as well as a broad knowledge of all aspects of engineering and site facilities. Must be self-motivated, have excellent judgment and be able to multitask under pressure.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Strong fault diagnosis skills on industrial electrical and mechanical systems to rectify breakdowns of production machinery and site facilities.
- Able to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Carry out planned preventive maintenance tasks.
- Record all planned and unplanned work before end of shift.
- Ensure all engineering work carried out on site is completed to the required safety standards.
- Handover shift meeting at end of shift.

Essential Education and experience:
- Minimum level of education and experience required NVQ Level 3 in electrical maintenance or equivalent.
- 3-5 years experience in a similar role.
- Good aptitude for pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written English capability.
Hours of Work: Days/Backs/ 6-2 and 2-10 rotating, Days and Nights - 6-2 days Mon-Friday 8-6 nights Monday to Thursday with the ability to cover callout if required to suit the needs of the business.
Salary: £43,454 for the 6-2 and 2-10 shift. £45,862 for the 6-2 shift and 8-6 nights. Overtime paid at time and a half, and double time for Sundays and bank holidays. Any callouts will be paid at £77 per callout.
Company pension scheme, matched contributions up to 7%.
