Purpose of the Role
To support the day-to-day cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of the workplace by carrying out routine inspections, waste management, housekeeping duties, and health & safety compliance checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Duties
- Check all toilet facilities every morning and at the end of each shift for toilet rolls and hand cleaner supplies.
- Empty all bins during the last hour of the working day.
- Carry out and document forklift safety checks each day.
- Weekly Duties
- Arrange collection/disposal of oil waste.
- Arrange disposal of wood, cardboard, and pallets through approved contractors.
- Clean the smoking shelter once per week.
- Ensure overalls are collected/managed every Tuesday or Wednesday morning.
- Monthly Duties
- On the first working day of each month: Check and document the condition of the defibrillator.
- Check and document all fire extinguishers.
- Check and document emergency lighting systems.
- Fire Safety Responsibilities
- Carry out the weekly fire alarm test every Tuesday between 11:45am and 12:15pm.
- Ensure all fire alarm tests are recorded and documented correctly.
- General Responsibilities
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across the site.
- Ensure waste disposal procedures are followed correctly.
- Report defects, hazards, or safety concerns to management.
- Support company health & safety procedures at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of all required inspections and checks.
