Overview

We are recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join a manufacturing business in Kettering. The role is responsible for managing day-to-day purchasing activity, ensuring materials and services are sourced cost-effectively, delivered on time, and meet required quality standards. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will play a key role in supplier management, cost control, and supporting production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily procurement of materials, components, and services
  • Develop and maintain relationships with a global supplier base
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality/supply issues
  • Identify and onboard new suppliers
  • Support production planning through material availability
  • Track deliveries and manage supply risks
  • Analyse procurement data and improve processes
  • Report on procurement KPIs and cost performance

About You

  • Procurement/purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Good understanding of supply chain and procurement processes
  • Highly organised with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems

Desirable

  • CIPS qualified or studying
