Key Responsibilities and Duties- Set up and print high-quality designs of up to 8 colours onto flexible plastic substrates and paper.
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of a wide-web flexographic printing press.
- Optimise press speeds to maximise uptime and minimise downtime, ensuring safe and efficient operation at all times.
- Carry out appropriate troubleshooting activities and escalate maintenance issues when required.
- Ensure safety is always a priority, guaranteeing that people, the environment, and products are never compromised.
- Take a proactive approach to ensure the press runs smoothly by monitoring processes, identifying potential issues, determining root causes, and implementing effective solutions.
- Report any issues that may affect output or quality to the Quality department throughout the shift.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping on the press and surrounding areas, in line with 5S auditing requirements.
- Manage stock levels of all necessary materials to ensure efficient shift operations.
- Work with solvent-based inks in line with safety and quality standards.
- Provide support and training to new starters and other personnel as required.
- Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of printing machinery.
- Complete a comprehensive handover at the end of every shift.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in flexographic printing (preferred).
- Knowledge of the BRC Code of Practice.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem-solve and work on own initiative.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team with strong communication skills.
- Capable of managing change in a fast-paced and demanding environment while maintaining business standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Competent in using computers and relevant software programs.
