Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Permanent Chef to join a care home in Market Harborough. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate chef who enjoys preparing fresh, nutritious meals and making a positive difference to residents' daily lives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards in a caring environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals for residents.
• Cater for individual dietary requirements, allergies and special diets.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Ensure food is stored, prepared and handled safely in line with food safety regulations.
• Manage food stock, minimise waste and assist with stock control.
• Work effectively as part of the kitchen team to ensure meals are served on time.
• Create a welcoming dining experience for residents.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook is essential.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to cater for different dietary needs and preferences.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• A caring, patient and reliable approach.
• Ability to work a rolling rota, including weekends.

The role offers 38.5 hours per week , working 12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00

The rolling rota alternates between:

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday.
• Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
• £14.44 per hour.
• Consistent rolling rota.
