We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our clients team in a fast-paced packing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials efficiently while ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Duties:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods from lorries and storage areas.
- Will be required to do bagging. Move various quantities of weight while swinging.
- Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of inventory movements.
- Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage.
- Maintain an organised packing environment, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and safely.
- Assist in inventory management as and when required.
- Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to avoid injury.
- May be required to help with packing as and when required.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid counterbalance license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse/packing setting is essential.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, as well as materials handling best practices.
- Basic maths skills for accurate counting and inventory management.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are required for maintaining an orderly workspace.
Hours are Monday to Friday 6am to 6pm. Saturdays also required during peak periods between 6 to 12 hours. Pay is between £13.25 and £13.50 per hour. Overtime after 40 hours at time and half (£19.88 - £20.25 per hour).
