We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems in both commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, safety protocols, and a variety of technical skills. The successful applicant will be committed to delivering high-quality service while adhering to all health and safety regulations. The hours of work are 8AM TILL 4.30PM Monday to Friday, with some occasional emergency call outs which are agreed prior.

Responsibilities
  • Install, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in accordance with current safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform necessary maintenance.
  • Use a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Perform welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work as required during installation or repairs.
  • Carry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety policies.
  • Assist with troubleshooting complex mechanical problems related to gas systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframes.
Experience
  • Proven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role within the building services industry.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, welding, and assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as welding machines.
  • Experience working with commercial gas systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or maintenance tasks.
  • Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving is preferred but not essential for all roles.
  • Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to system specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Must have - GAS CCN1, CORE DOMESTIC GAS SAFETY, LEVEL 3 PLUMBING.
