4 ON 4 OFF NIGHTS
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team (Freezer Environment). The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials, operating forklifts, and supporting overall warehouse operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical aptitude to contribute to a dynamic logistics environment.
Duties
- Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and move goods within the warehouse
- Manage materials handling tasks, including stacking and organising stock
- Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory control
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to ensure safe operation
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records
- Support with basic mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of warehouse equipment
- Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to during operations, including heavy lifting procedures
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a warehouse setting
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Strong materials handling skills with the ability to load & unload goods efficiently
- Experience in shipping & receiving operations
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and safety compliance
