Red Recruit Global is excited to collaborate with a well‑established, award‑winning Removals and Storage firm. We are currently seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated Removals HGV Team Leader to oversee the driving team handling customers moves from their branch in London.
What you’ll do:
- Take charge delivering superior customer service by demonstrating a high degree of leadership, flexibility and a conscientious approach to getting the job done.
- Be fully conversant with and conform to company procedures and ensure that company instructions, standards of discipline, workmanship and safety of yourself and the workers under your control are maintained at all times.
- The successful HGV Team Leader will also have the opportunity to manage a regional branch in the manager's absence.
- Direct and control team members, liaising directly with customers.
- Use good geographic knowledge of the UK.
- Understand the working time directive.
- Ensure company instructions and standards of discipline, workmanship and safety (including accident reporting) are maintained at all times.
- Have advanced supervisory and team leadership/motivation skills.
- Work from plans/drawings and instruct staff accordingly.
- Understand and comply with 'O' licence regulations and working time directive.
- Have knowledge and experience of office and commercial work.
- Have knowledge and experience of implementing health & safety regulations and conducting risk assessments.
- Coach branch staff on the job.
What you need:
- Previous removals experience and a high degree of personal and professional standards.
- A UK driver’s licence is essential, plus you need to hold licence for or be willing to obtain a valid LGV (category C or C+E), and a valid Drivers CPC Certificate.
- Excellent customer service skills with a cooperative attitude.
- Superior driving record.
- High degree of problem solving.
- Be able to brief and debrief move teams and take any necessary action.
- When not otherwise directed, be able and willing to complete the duties and responsibilities of the Move Controller.
- Compliance with established legal tachograph procedures.
- Passed or be willing to undertake necessary removals skills courses.
