Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30

About the Role

Our client, a well-established freight forwarding and shipping organisation based in Selby, North Yorkshire, is seeking an experienced European Operations Co-ordinator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a freight forwarding professional with strong European Road Freight experience to join a positive team environment within a modern office setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing European road freight shipments from quotation through to final delivery, while maintaining strong relationships with both clients and suppliers.

What you'll do

  • Liaising extensively with clients, building strong relationships and maximising the potential of European Road Freight accounts.
  • Working closely with suppliers to develop reliable and cost-effective European freight services.
  • Calculating freight quotations for both export and import shipments.
  • Completing operational administration, including job cards and supplier booking confirmations.
  • Preparing all relevant operational documentation, including customs clearance formalities.
  • Managing European road freight consignments in transit through to successful completion and delivery.
  • Completing invoicing and ensuring job files are finalised accurately.

What you need

  • A minimum of 3 years' freight forwarding experience within European Road Freight.
  • A good understanding of post-Brexit European customs clearance requirements.
  • Confident and clear communication skills.
  • Proven experience building strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Good numeracy skills, with experience calculating freight quotations.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
