Data Focused EU Road Freight Coordinator
Salary: £30,000 per annum

Our client, a leading international logistics company, is looking for an experienced Data Processor to join its newly established sales office in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing branch and work closely with the Branch Manager to develop the operation. You will help ensure that European road freight shipments are handled efficiently, customers receive an excellent service and all transport documentation and system records remain accurate and up to date.
The successful candidate will have at least one year's experience within European road freight, combined with strong customer service, organisational and problem-solving skills.
What you'll do:
- Support the management of European road freight shipments from booking through to delivery.
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, monitor shipments, coordinate with carriers and overseas partners, and resolve any operational issues that arise.
- Support the onboarding and retention of new clients as the Bristol branch continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a dedicated point of contact for clients.
- Provide customers with regular shipment and delivery updates.
- Track multiple shipments and monitor delivery schedules.
- Support new clients throughout the onboarding process.
- Maintain high service standards to encourage client retention.
- Liaise with customers, overseas partners and transport carriers.
- Negotiate rates and book cargo space with carriers.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipment information within internal systems.
- Verify commercial invoices and request the required import and export documentation.
- Obtain and process proof of delivery documentation.
- Arrange cargo insurance when required.
- Assist with claims involving lost or damaged cargo.
- Resolve delays, route changes, customs holds and other operational issues.
- Ensure shipments are completed in line with customer requirements and company standards.
- Support the Branch Manager with the continued development of the Bristol operation.
What you need:
- A minimum of one year's experience within European road freight.
- Good knowledge of freight forwarding and transport operations.
- Strong customer service and relationship-management skills.
- The ability to organise and monitor multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- The ability to make confident decisions and take ownership of your work.
- Good numeracy and English-language skills.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams.
- Experience using logistics, transport or shipment-tracking systems.
- Additional language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
