Our client is a prestigious international contemporary art gallery, celebrated for presenting world-class artists and delivering exceptional exhibitions to a discerning global audience. They are seeking an experienced and dedicated Fine Art Technician to join their London team.
Key responsibilities:
- Install artworks using various methods on different wall surfaces, ensuring precision and care
- Handle artworks and installations with the highest level of attention to detail
- Prepare, pack, and unpack artworks for transport, including crates
- Maintain accurate records of artworks in the gallery's database (training provided)
- Monitor and report any damage to artworks, whether in transit or on-site
- Support the day-to-day appearance and maintenance of the gallery, including re-hanging displays as needed
- Occasionally attend deliveries or installations at external locations
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends or extended hours
About you:
- Demonstrated experience as an art technician or in a similar role within a gallery, museum, or fine art environment
- Skilled in careful handling, installation, and packing of fine art
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-value environment
- Reliable, proactive, and adaptable to occasional changing schedules
- Strong skills in maintaining accurate stock and keeping precise records in a database are also essential
- Must have hands-on experience in installing and handling artworks, as well as preparing, packing, and unpacking them - including managing crates
