Seafreight Import Operator – West Yorkshire Location: West Yorkshire Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Due to company growth , we are recruiting for an experienced Seafreight Import Operator to join a well-established freight forwarding and supply chain company based in West Yorkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid background in Ocean Freight Imports who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish, building customer relationships and working within a busy operational environment. What you'll do: Manage Seafreight Import shipments from origin through to final delivery. Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and customers. Arrange collections, deliveries and onward transportation. Prepare and process shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading. Coordinate customs clearance and ensure all necessary documentation is in place. Provide quotations and respond to customer enquiries. Monitor shipment progress and provide regular updates. Work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient service. What you need: Previous experience in Seafreight Import operations within a freight forwarding environment. Good understanding of import procedures, shipping documentation and customs requirements. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments. Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills. Commercially aware, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
