We’re seeking an experienced Sheltered Housing Manager to lead and deliver a high-quality housing management service for older and vulnerable residents across six sheltered housing schemes. This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on service excellence, resident wellbeing, and strong operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of Specialist Housing Officers, fostering a supportive, high-performing culture.
- Oversee day-to-day management of sheltered schemes, ensuring buildings, communal areas, and services remain safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Drive efficient void management—repairs, turnaround, and re-letting—to minimise revenue loss and maximise resident satisfaction.
- Manage rent arrears proactively and support residents in accessing financial guidance and assistance.
- Coordinate social activities, encourage resident involvement, and maintain strong relationships with support providers and internal partners.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and ensure robust service continuity plans are in place.
- Oversee budget planning, monitor spend, and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and value for money.
- Regularly report on performance, KPIs, and service outcomes, using data to inform improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, information management, and local authority policies.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience managing sheltered housing schemes.
- Proven experience leading housing teams and working directly with older or vulnerable residents.
- Solid understanding of housing legislation, safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory frameworks.
- Confident in data-driven decision-making and performance reporting.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to build strong partnerships and deliver results.
- Degree-qualified or equivalent experience essential (e.g., NVQ Level 4 in Supported Housing).
- Enhanced DBS required.
