We are urgently recruiting for a Receptionist / Administrator (Business Support Officer) to join a newly developed Education, Health & Wellbeing Hub supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs with a local authority. This is a key front-facing role within a busy centre, ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and a professional, compassionate approach to working with vulnerable adults, families, and professionals. This is an ongoing position with long-term potential.

The Role

  • Act as the first point of contact for the centre, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and efficient reception and administrative service.
  • Manage the front desk, greet visitors and direct them appropriately.
  • Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries.
  • Coordinate and update transport arrangements for residents.
  • Maintain accurate records, registers, and usage data.
  • Support communication with families, carers, and external professionals.
  • Monitor health & safety logs, report repairs, and conduct daily checks.
  • Manage post, supplies, and general office organisation.
  • Support events, meetings, and centre communications.

About You

  • Proactive and organised individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
  • Previous experience as a Receptionist, Administrator, or Front Office professional.
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic manner.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and office systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working within a social care or public sector setting.
  • A genuine interest in supporting adults with additional needs is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months (essential).
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends on a rota basis (with days off in lieu).
