We are urgently recruiting for a Receptionist / Administrator (Business Support Officer) to join a newly developed Education, Health & Wellbeing Hub supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs with a local authority. This is a key front-facing role within a busy centre, ideal for someone with strong administrative skills and a professional, compassionate approach to working with vulnerable adults, families, and professionals. This is an ongoing position with long-term potential.
The Role
- Act as the first point of contact for the centre, ensuring a welcoming, safe, and efficient reception and administrative service.
- Manage the front desk, greet visitors and direct them appropriately.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries.
- Coordinate and update transport arrangements for residents.
- Maintain accurate records, registers, and usage data.
- Support communication with families, carers, and external professionals.
- Monitor health & safety logs, report repairs, and conduct daily checks.
- Manage post, supplies, and general office organisation.
- Support events, meetings, and centre communications.
About You
- Proactive and organised individual who can thrive in a fast-paced, people-focused environment.
- Previous experience as a Receptionist, Administrator, or Front Office professional.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and empathetic manner.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and office systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working within a social care or public sector setting.
- A genuine interest in supporting adults with additional needs is highly desirable.
Requirements
- Enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months (essential).
- Willingness to work occasional weekends on a rota basis (with days off in lieu).
