We’re seeking an experienced Adult Social Care Solicitor to join a supportive and high-performing legal team within a local authority setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor or barrister with in-depth knowledge of adult social care law and local government practice.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on adult social care matters, including Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding, ordinary residence, and Court of Protection work.
- Manage a varied caseload independently, delivering high-quality written and verbal advice to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Prepare and present cases before the Court of Protection and other relevant forums.
- Support and collaborate with colleagues across the wider legal services team, ensuring compliance with statutory and policy frameworks.
About you:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX).
- Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and related legislation.
- Previous local authority or public sector legal experience is highly desirable.
- Confident communicator with excellent drafting and analytical skills.
